Summary
A part-time administrator is required to help support the thriving I Love to Learn Professional Tuition after-school tuition centres; in Havant, Fareham and Portsmouth. Hours are flexible during daytime or early evening.
Communication
- Internal-e.g. emails and calls to customers

- Recording payments-non-automatic
- Following up late payments
- Updating financial records

- Keeping Calendar and database up to date

Tutor Role and Responsibilities
Summary
We are looking for excellent and enthusiastic tutors to teach part time after school and/or Saturday mornings. Join our team and make full use of your time after-school or on Saturday mornings. We find the students, sort out payment and give you a great place to work with minimum hastle. All you have to do is turn up and teach!
You would be tutoring children 6-16 in maths and English in either one of our dedicated, OFSTED registered, education centres. They are located in Havant, Portsmouth and Fareham.

- You do not need to be a maths or English specialist
- All resources provided in the centre
- Take nothing home
- Flexible sessions to suit you
Remuneration:
Pay is based on the number of students taught in a session or sessions. The more students you teach, the more you will get paid. This can be up to £37.50 per hour.

Havant Centre Director: Role and Responsibilities
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Centre Director to join our team in Havant. As a senior tutoring role, you will have the freedom to manage pupils, parents, and tutors while
focusing on marketing strategies to drive centre growth. This role comes with performance targets, providing you with the opportunity to excel and achieve outstanding results. We
currently have centres in Portsmouth, Fareham, and Havant, UK. This is a full-time position that may require some financial commitment.

Remuneration:
We offer a two-stage remuneration package. During the probationary period (8-12 weeks), wages will be based on the tutoring sessions worked. However, this requirement can be waived for those who are already tutoring with us.
After successfully completing the probation and training period, you will receive a management element, a minimum number of 4-6 sessions per week, and a bonus related to targets based on centre %profit. Your remuneration will depend on your success in growing student numbers, as outlined above.

Centre Management
As the Centre Director, you will have complete responsibility for managing and growing the centre. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Opening and preparing the centre for business
- Recruiting and enrolling students
- Attending regular team meetings during term time
- Senior Teaching Responsibilities, including teaching students during term time
- Communicating with and management of tutors
- Recruiting and managing tutors
- Providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with parents
- Recognizing and rewarding students with prizes and certificates
- Organizing missed lessons and catch-up sessions
Marketing & Communication
As part of your role, you will actively contribute to marketing and communication efforts, including:
- Organizing sales events to attract new students
- Managing social media posts and website updates
- Networking with schools and local organizations to promote our services
- Taking part in marketing activities to increase brand visibility
- Actively seeking out marketing opportunities to expand our reach
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status
- DBS Cleared
- First Aid Training (preferred)

Meet the Centre Director: Howard Jones
Howard is the Centre Director. He is a secondary teacher with over 13 years experience and has now tutored 6 to 16 year olds for 13 years. He loves to teach all topics but especially secondary Maths. He is passionate about education and love seeing children reach their full potential. He enjoys politics, running and reading but not at the same time! He is married to Linda and they have two fantastic children.

Loving to Learn: Activities and tasks that your child Can Do!
After the assessment we use their results to create an individual plan for your child. It will focus on any areas of weakness and allow us to set work at the right level. We will give your child work that they can do so their confidence and feeling of success returns. We will ensure that in each lesson they will discover success and also find a challenge. Homework is set to practice and repeat their learning- this helps them to retain it!

She has a really fun and friendly attitude.She currently works part time in a local Primary School and enjoys finding ways to help motivate and develop the children in her care.
She loves art and the creative areas of the curriculum. Louisa is also one of our First Aiders.

Linda Jones:
is the Co-Director with Howard. She has a huge amount of primary experience, having been a Literacy Coordinator in West Sussex, and Literacy Development teacher here in Portsmouth. Linda is now dedicated to perfecting students’ skills through tutoring. She finds working with children energising! She also enjoys cooking and playing Boggle.

4 Study Habits for the New Academic Year
It’s back to business after the freedom and fun of the summer holidays. Let’s hope our children will have the excitement and enthusiasm for a new year motivating them through the first term. Forming a few good habits early can help them when facing new challenges later.
Effective study skills can often make good students into great students. Here are four great study habits to help your child get the most out of their learning this year.
- Study Planner-schools let children know the topics they will be studying nowadays. Make a long term plan of the year ahead to help focus their learning and avoid last minute cramming.
- Study Schedule-stick to regular homework sessions on a timetable making as it will become part of the daily routine.
A calendar and a weekly plan leading up to due dates will give everyone a clear view and help in allocating time to getting things done.
- Study Time- designate a ‘communication blackout hour’ or until homework is done, no phones, messages, gaming or TV.
- Study Space-create a study area away from above distraction, ideally a quiet, well lit area, having materials and equipment to hand including spare reading glasses if needed.
Help with Homework
We don’t think that parents should have to do all the work, so this kind of support for children is a good way to help them take responsibility. Generally the rule of thumb is, if you are working harder on their homework than they are it is time to back off! Of course it is OK to help with their homework, (make it clear who is responsible) if they ask for it but perhaps limit it to 30 mins before charging!
Getting the balance right can take time. Try to avoid threats if things get tough, this usually leads to trenches getting dug rather deep. Instead try offering encouragement like ” As soon as it’s done you can/we can ………..”.

All resources are provided so you do not necessarily have to be an English or maths specialist. We know that great teachers can learn new things so we are happy to train you with the new material.

You can do one or more sessions a week to suit your availability and pay is up to £33 p/h.
