Free Assessment

Assessment

The free assessment is designed to identify any gaps in your child’s learning and to identify your child’s strengths. You will be able to discuss any concerns you might have about your child’s learning needs. The free assessment can take anywhere from 40 – 60 minutes and is conducted by a fully qualified teacher. The assessment result helps your tutor to design an individualised learning programme for your child.

English Assessment

Your child will be encouraged to read and write independently. From this, we will provide you with an assessment of your child’s reading age, spelling age and comprehension age. This will provide a baseline starting point to work from to formulate your child’s personalised learning English programme.

Maths Assessment

Your child will be encouraged to answer some Maths questions independently covering a number of different Maths topics suitable for their age. This will include: Mental Maths, Times Tables, Problem Solving and Arithmetic. This will provide us with a baseline starting point to work from to formulate your child’s personalised learning Maths programme.

Ongoing Assessment

Further to the initial assessment, your child will have regular assessments throughout their tutoring programme. These updated assessments will also be passed on to you and achievements celebrated with your child.

What parents say...

Alex had been tested in Year 4 for dyslexia and he came out mildly dyslexic for spelling.  He has a poor short term memory, and we were concerned about him going to Senior School with these problems. Alex started off a bit ‘anti’, but now he agrees that his writing is better and the improvement has been commented on by teachers.  We are so pleased he is getting professional help, and are especially pleased that he now see the benefit and is self-motivated. He now is now asking for help with his Maths too!

Sofia says “I Love to Learn Now!”

Sofia’s mum brought her to us as she was having a few problems with maths at school.  She liked it so much that now she comes for English as well!  Mariana says that now “Sofia is more confident with math now and she’s coming to I Love to Learn for pleasure.  She is very happy with her teacher, she says she is very kind and patient.”

Dylan had always struggled with very poor handwriting.  After only a few months teachers can now read his writing and he feels more confident.  His coordination problems have been recognised “Thanks to your suggestion,” and this has helped at school.   It has made a big difference to his schooling as he enjoys it much more now.

I was told at school that Harrison had fallen about 2 years behind in reading, writing and spelling. Harrison took to it straight away.  He has made fantastic progress and is meeting all his targets.  He loves the points and prizes that he collects for working so he comes out buzzing after every session!

Firstly, I would like to thank yourselves and your staff for all your help and dedication to helping my daughter Saoirse with her maths.  She has shown an improvement with her confidence at attempting to handle the mathematics she is give by her school.  And I feel this is due to the staff at your centre, she had a very rough year in Year 4, with her very unsympathetic teacher and you all helped her through that.  For that I’m very grateful.
Mrs R Wall
“I Love to Learn really helped me prepare for my entrance exam.  I give I Love to Learn 10/10.  I Love to Learn helped me understand pie charts, algebra and story writing.  I enjoyed coming to I Love to Learn and would love to come back in the future.”
